We’re honored to feature the work and talent of Dave Peterson, co-owner and printer of Small Family Clothing, on each one of our specialty crafted garments. Dave is a local screen printer, poster artist, and dedicated college instructor whose creativity has made an impact both close to home and on a national stage.

Dave recently created the official poster for the X-Games in addition to producing graphic design and print work for local and national bands, major sporting events, and a wide range of companies.
Beyond the studio, Dave shares his passion for the craft as an instructor at Madison College where he teaches multiple courses within the Graphic Arts Department, including Introductory and Advanced Screen Printing. He is also a Level 2 snowboard instructor and an incredible family man who has passed his love for the mountains on to his three young children, teaching each of them to snowboard and embrace adventure from an early age.
We feel incredibly lucky to have Dave as part of the Small Family Clothing team—bringing thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, deep mentorship, and wholehearted passion to everything he creates.
Come along with us as we walk through the many steps behind screen printing our Large Mouth Bass shirt.
From the first brushstrokes of hand-painted art
to the final pull of the squeegee—
every layer is slow, intentional, and made by hand.
This is the beauty of small-batch work…
where process matters, craftsmanship shows,
and every shirt carries a story from start to finish.
Come along with us as we show you each layer that goes into our screen printing Fly shirt.
This design is created using a four-color screen print process—
each layer carefully aligned,
each pull of the squeegee done slowly by hand.
It’s patient work.
Intentional work.
The kind of process that reminds us good things aren’t rushed.
We’re grateful to make pieces like this for you, one careful pull at a time.
